Special Children - We say they are the ones who are closer to GOD, yet sometimes we ourselves neglect them. These children with the help of proper training provided by Schools for the Special Children can actually come to a level whether they are at least able to cater to their basic needs. If the scale of the child in the psychological analysis is that of moderate, then they could even go up to the level where they can do some job (involving of basic work) to have a sufficient earning of their own to help them fend for themselves in the future.
We have identified one such school in Bangalore, Vatsalya (HAL School for special education). This school is provided by the HAL society. The HAL society administration is generous to provide discounted fees for the children of certain parents who lie below the poverty line. But, some of these parents, though interested in providing education for their children are with difficulty being able to provide discounted fees.
VKARE Association, along with H2O Charitable Trust, with the help of the faculty of Vatsalya School, has identified few such children. We are providing an aid to these children by giving them an aid in their school fees as well as the transportation fees.
One such child is 'Keertana'. She lies in the range of Moderate affected children. Her parents were already seeking the administrations help for funding the fees. The faculty helped us to know their situation, and guided us to them. We talked with the parents of Keertana. She has been doing well and improving because of the training provided by Vatslya School's faculty members. Her parents want to continue the education of the child and to bring her to a stage where she is able to do all her basic work for herself. And improve further too. It is great to see the interest Keertana's parents have taken to educate her. Her mother takes personal care to follow all the instructions given by the faculty members hoping for every scope of improvement in the Child. We are lending a helping hand to the child by our help to her and hope the best in life for her.
There are two other kids, for whom we have helped in funding partial fees in order to provide a helping hand for their parents in bearing the load of fees in their schooling. They are ‘Sonu Episheba’ and ‘Marshal Nathan’, who also lie in the range of Moderate affected children. The improvement, though slow, but is remarkable. And we are happy that we are a small part in helping with this.
